The shapes of design floor lamps
Design floor lamps come in various shapes and materials and fit perfectly into modern, designer interiors. Their shapes are very diverse: from fairly traditional to more extreme. Frequently used colours are white, black, beige, taupe and gold. Sometimes brighter colours such as red are used.
We have floor lamps with a lampshade. These mainly create atmosphere and emit light all around. There are also floor lamps with an uplight. These give off light in the direction of the ceiling in order to create atmosphere by means of indirect lighting. The disadvantage of these lamps is that unevenness in the ceiling quickly becomes apparent. The counterpart to this is a floor lamp with a downlight. These lamps focus the light downwards. Downlight lamps are often used as reading lights. We also have arc lamps that are usually adjustable. You can place these next to the sofa and still have them shine in the middle of the sofa. Finally, we have floor lamps with a tripod. The tripod gives the lamps an original and retro look. They are often equipped with a lampshade.
There are also not too many exceptions in terms of colour. Grey, black and white are usually the basic colours. Chrome and copper can also be used.
Tip: the combination with modern pendant lamps completes the look. There are, for example, lamp families where the same design can be found in free-standing lamps, pendant lamps and wall lamps.
